Arkansas Flower Planters - Question!!

Hey ladies, I haven't posted much on the nest yet, but I'm moving to Arkansas shortly and love planting flowers.  Which flowers grow the best down there?  Which ones do you recommend?  I'd also love to plant Basil (I attract horse flies like mad) and wonder if you can plant it with anything or if it has to be separated?  I've never planted it before.  TIA!!

You?ll have to be a little more specific than I?m moving to Arkansas...are you moving to Central Arkansas which is bloody hot and dry, or are you moving to Northwest Arkansas which is a little less hot and a little less dry? Or are you moving to Texarkana which is just wretchedly hot?

Regardless of where in Arkansas you live, I?d suggest planting your basil in a pot because it will need lots and lots of watering.

  • Good point - I'm moving to Salem, Arkansas.  It's just inside the north border, kind of in the middle (from west to east).  It's near Mountain Home; Mammoth Spring; Ashflat; and West Plains, MO.

Good to know about the Basil - thank you.  :)
