I'm thankful that DD didn't really notice the heat this morning, and distracted me from focusing on it by talking about the birds chirping. Mornings are much more pleasant when I don't ignore the birds singing.
I'm trying to be thankful I have a good job, even though my group is moving from our business unit to the corporate side and our benefits will get worse while our pay stays the same. It's hard to stay thankful when you are reminded of being just a line item on a financial ledger somewhere.

I'm thankful for all of the friends I have here. DH and I moved here knowing no one, and have made great friends through a meet-up group, our church, and in our apt. complex. Plus a good friend that I studied abroad with just moved to the area last week.
I'm also thankful for gossip magazines that end up on my desk as they circulate around the office. :-)

i am thankful for last weekend's wine-focused getaway with DH (even though the work days before and after were awful from start to finish). i promise to share some photos and reviews.
i am thankful for victoria1212's recommendation of hiddencroft vineyards, we loved their wines and the owners.
i am thankful for stargirl's leesburg restaurant recs - we loved tuskie's, doner bistro, and vintage 50.
and yes, i know that is a lot of wine-related gratitude
I am also grateful that whatever assignations Rep. Weiner may have had, he did not have them at the Mayflower and thus screw up my commute. When Eliot Spitzer got outed there were media trucks in front of the Mayflower for days....and for what, exactly?
I am thankful for my pup and her great cuddles.
