Riding the bus at night.

Do any of you do this? Is it perfectly safe?

I take the bus to/from work - SW Portland.  I'm volunteering at night now, and will take it home after 9pm.  I'm a little hesitant, but hopefully am overthinking it.

Where will you have to take the bus to/from at night? For the most part, TriMet is very safe.. It really depends on where you'll have to walk to/from while getting to/from the bus stop.

It is all in SW and requires one bus change downtown - so walking a few blocks on streets that should be fairly empty (businesses but no homes/restaurants).

*I* would probably be fine with it especially since it's still light out at 9pm now... but that's me, and I've lived in Portland for 24 years.

I regularly use trimet during all hours of the day without a problem; but then again I come from some ghetto streets of Chicago and don't have a problem cutting people if needed.
