Something ate all the leaves off my tomato plant!

Last night I went out to see if any of the almost budding flowers on my tomato plant bloomed only to see something ate ALL the leaves. It is just one thick stalk now.

The other day I caught a gopher munching on one of my bean plants. I seriously need to invest in some sort of protection. I have a 4 x 4 square foot garden. Any suggestions?

Chicken wire fencing.  Gophers dig though.  Ask your local garden nursery if they have suggestions for that.

The best garden protector?  A dog.  We got a new pup in April and she has kept the rabbits from eating my tulips, gophers out of our yard and digging up along our foundation, snakes out of our basement, and moles from digging up our yard.  Best $50 rescue dog EVER.

  • I have had some success with Liquid Fence, but you have to keep applying it.
