coincidentally i just went on yahoo and one of the top stories is that this is actually a hoax.
It is just temporary ink and is to promote some company that does stuff with your profile pictures.
I just saw that. But I wouldn't be surprised if someone does this for real one day, like others said, nothing much is surprising anymore.
