  • We use the Animal Health Center on Rte 1 in Walpole. Dr Trapani is amazing, and has been great w/ our two labs.

We also see Dr Tripani. I have no complaints, everyone in the office is great, and they've even stayed open late for us when DoggyExtravaganza tested positive for lyme so we could get her there for more bloodwork.

However, they're more expensive than most. And I know people who use them who have said they will order unnecessary bloodwork and the like. I know a couple of people who have actually switched to other vets because of all the ways the office tries to nickel and dime you (as if going to the vet wasn't expensive enough!).

There's a vet my mother used for all of our childhood pets called Windhover Veterinary Clinic. It is also in Walpole and actually close to the Norwood line on 1A. They have a reputation for trying holistic treatments when possible, and we've considered switching there multiple times (we probably will eventually).

  • I usually question what they want to order etc to make sure it's necessary, but a good vet is worth every penny in my eyes. Charlie had an abcess and Dr. Trapani helped rupture it as Charlie was in pain and we wanted to avoid surgery if possible. I've found them to be fantastic, and when we were fostering she always gave a discount and worked with the rescues.

  • I'm not arguing that they're not a good vet- obviously I think they are as we use them. Just saying that they ARE more expensive, and locally they have a reputation for being way overpriced. As much as I have had a good experience with them, I know people who have not.
