Teachers: Any Info on Virtual Jobs?

I found a job listing for a virtual high school teaching job. I don't know anything about how they work.

Never even heard of this!  I would imagine it's much like an online college class...I took several of those.  I think the only time I really had interaction with the instructor was when I submitted assignments.

Yeah that's what it sounds like. I have seen ads for online schools for younger students more recently. I'm getting a little desperate because there are so no jobs!!

To sum up how she feels, I think she misses a classroom and being able to go to work. There is also an interesting demographic that she sees using the school. It also pays less than a regular school job (I think). However, she gets to be at home with her daughter unless she is called out, which I don't think is THAT often. Thanks for the info. I was wondering about the salary although it is a school year calendar and FT. It would fix the concern over commuting in L.A. traffic...

I have a friend who works for CVA as well and really likes it. She's a SAHM for all intent and purpose but this allows her to still bring in an income. I would say even with lower pay, not having to commute would be a huge bonus in the LA area.

Yeah, I think that if my gf was to add in the price she is saving on day care, she is definitely making more than a traditional school, or about the same. And agree with not having to commute. Imagine what that will save on not only gas (which is going up so high) but wear and tear on the car. GOD I SOUND LIKE MY DAD.

Yeah we have found a place to live so my main concern now is finding a job and not having to drive for 2 hrs to get there. So keep your fingers crossed for me!
