Remember last week when I was joking about mosquito bites?Turns out they're not. I have effing BEDBUGS. Somebody shoot me please?
I thought it may be that, and put it out of my head. Then, before going to bed, I found 2 tiny, reddish but transparent bugs on my pillow and squished them. Then I looked online and my welts looked just like everything they were showing. I found one more on J's side of the bed, but lost it when I was trying to show him. I fell asleep for an hour, and woke up with another cluster of bites. I'm itchy and miserable. For crying out loud they've bitten my ear!
NYC has had a big issue with bedbugs for some time now.. I just never figured we would get them. Now I need to clean up my apartment so we don't look like slobs and I can call my jerk landlord and tell him we got infested. UGH
Re: May I Vent?
that sucks! i heard about the bed bud problem in NY...man, i used to think that was just a saying to freak little kids out before bed time....
good luck with the landlord!

That sucks! I've been avoiding NYC for that reason! hahaha it freaks me out!
How do you get rid of them?
O.M.G. bed bugs freak me the fruck out!!
My Gpa went to an ironmaiden concert in NYC (long story) and brought home bed bugs. He had to throughout his mattresses, and replace all the carpeting upstairs. I hope your infestation isnt as bad.
The bright side is you live in an apartment and your landlord has to have the building treated... If you had them in your home it costs thousands of dollars for treatment. Very, very expensive. GL, I'm sorry, that really sucks : (
They're itchy, blood-sucking bastards. I look like leper from all the bites. I assumed it was mosquitoes because I started getting bit after we put in the air conditioner. So now, we need to super clean the apartment so I can call the landlord and let him know. If the place is messy, he's going to read us the riot act about our filth causing the problem. The place isn't filthy, just a bit messy, but he's a jerk.
Neither of us got bitten last night, so I'm hoping the few I killed was the end of it. Hey, a girl can dream.... right? It is a possibility that we just carried in a few strays and they haven't managed to multiply. I plan on letting the other tenants know when I tell the landlord because he needs to treat the whole building (only 6 units) but I know he'll try to cheap out and just do ours.
As for getting rid of the, they're worse than fleas. Fleas die with simple dish liquid (specifically Dawn) or vinegar. Bedbugs need to be frozen or heated out. It's uber expensive, and I'm hoping someone else brought them in so we won't get the riot act.
