Curly/wavy hair ladies

Curly/wavy hair ladies,

If you walk out of the salon feeling like a million bucks, your hair looks just as good a dozen washes later and you know nobody else could do as good a job, who do you see?

My beloved stylist moved on to bigger and better things (doing runway and celebrity work in NY and CA - crazy!) so I'm on the hunt for someone new.  Money and location aren't an issue as long as they rock with curly/wavy hair.

Re: Curly/wavy hair ladies

  • I see Rayne at Infiniti in Lakeville, she's amazing. And she doesn't try to talk to you the whole time she's doing your hair either. She's really incredible. She's a master at the necessary layers for curly hair.

I drive from East St. Paul to Lakeville to see her. I pay under $100 for a cut and partial foil every time.

If you do decide to see her, I think I have a referral card somewhere for 10% off any service.

  • I really like Brent at Moxie Salon in Saint Paul.  He LOVES curly hair and is really good with it.  He's also laid back and funny.  $50 = can't be beat!  He also trains lots of other stylists and the Moxie Salon generally ROCKS - they let local artists display their wares, keep all stylists super well trained, offer really cool things like "two for one hair cuts" like on a Thursday from 1-4pm.  I just got an extra conditioner for booking two appointments out, for free.

The Moxie website SUCKS...but I found them on a curly website and two people there specialize in curly hair.  I went to Leah but wasn't quite as into her personality (she may have had an off day but didn't listen well.)

  • I see Vernita at Estetica in St. Paul, on Selby/Western.  Love her...and my hair is way curlier then most people know because she is awesome, and I spend big money on hair straighteners :)

  • I have nothing productive to add, but I'm glad you asked! I've been meaning to switch back to letting my hair go curly (I've been in a bad bad straightening habit.)

    Thanks for the recs!

  • Thanks ladies!
