How was the surprise birthday weekend?!

TONS of fun, especially taking him out of work Thursday afternoon! At first I only told him about the Tigers game that night, but then told him to pack for the whole weekend. Verlander pitched that night, which was an awesome chance occurance, and it was a great game. I did have to tell him the rest of the plans after the game, since we were driving across the Canadian border and I figured they'd probably ask specifics. He was really excited. Had a great time with our friends in Canada Friday morning/afternoon, then hit the road for Cooperstown. On the way we made a quick stop at Niagara Falls, since we were there and all! We've been before but only on the Canadian side, so it was neat to see them from New York. Cooperstown was adorable - wish we had a bit more time to explore the town. Our inn gave us a room upgrade for no reason at all, which was awesome. The Hall of Fame & Museum took us literally all day (with a stop for a late lunch) and was definitely worth it. It rained much of the time we were in Cooperstown, but that was OK for the most part because we were indoors. The drive home yesterday felt long, but that was mostly due to two border crossings and tons of construction in Canada. Overall it was awesome and I am so tired today - the sign of a great weekend for sure.
