Re: Vent/whine/confession? Topic du jour?
I was able to return to work last Monday and am on an assignment that involves scanning hard copies of files so that they may be stored electronically. I don't yet have all of the access I need to scan and store the files, so I've been pulling the hard copy files and removing staples, paper clips and binder clips.
I'm on day 6 of this.
I'm ready to use my staples to slit my wrists.
This, all of it, exactly. You bought a short sale, right? I'm assuming it was vacant for a while? We bought a foreclosure and ours was vacant for 2 years and OMG it is out of control. I friggin hate weeding. We've made some progress but at this point we're pretty much just maintaining the few areas that we've done and haven't had time to start pulling out weeds everywhere else because it takes so much time. I hate it.

Agreed! I'm much more inclined to read on the deck when I get home from work than weed. It's not fun. Something H and I should've considered before we bought a house with so much out of control property to maintain! Oops.
Mary, have you ever used Preen? It's FANTASTIC for keeping down weeds. We weed the flower beds, then use mulch with Preen in it (Lowe's has it). Just follow the directions. I think you have to add water right after mulching. There is either no weeding or very minimal weeding all year. And they have Preen pellets too that you can put on the mulch again, instead of remulching. You might not even need to mulch when you use the pellets, I'm not sure...
That sucks. (I am an only child too, I know how things can be). You have every right to be upset. what was he thinking?
I'm play- mine is house related too...
My H and I put our house on the market about a month ago. We had a contract about a week after putting it on the market that was very close to our asking price. We went through the inspection and had minimal repairs to do. Last week was the appraisal and our house appraised for about $20K below our asking price! The real kicker is that that appraisal since it was a FHA buyer is now tied to our house for the next three months or so and can't sell it for more than the appraisal. Luckily, we don't have to sell right now and will just try again in a year or so or even rent it out...
It sucks because we interviewed FIVE realtors, and each realtor suggested the same listing price, give or take $5K. I guess it just goes to show how messed up the housing market still is because banks, real estate agents, and appraisers are not on the same page and everybody loses- we lost on buying a house, our real estate agent lost his commission, and the buyers lost on buying a house. And then today, a house behind us went on the market for $10K more than our listing price. WTF?

The girls' room is not finished and it's causing me stress! I really hope I don't go early because we need to get Ava in her bed ASAP.
Vent/Confession - I'm not a fan of having random political fights on FB, particularly on other people's walls (with one exception) but it's taking a LOT not to respond with some serious snark to a comment that somebody I don't know just made on a friend's status.
Maybe I'm just crabby, but the comment is just ignorant, and dumb. And easily refuted. But it's not worth it to rock the boat, especially since no matter what I say it's not going to change her mind.
And it'd be waaaaay too rude since I don't know this girl and I know our mutual friend is more likely to side with her than with me...and I don't want to put her in an awkward position.
But man...it's hard.

Vent: I'm so bloated, it's freakn ridiculous! My tummy is distended and I can barely sit up straight. I don't think it's gas but I don't want to think what else it could be. Cyst? what???!! My body's confused, HPTs are still positive 8 weeks after d&c. The earliest I can see my doctor is Friday. In the meantime, I'll be walking around looking 7 months pregnant.

I totally hate yard work. I told DH this when we were looking @ houses and basically told him that maintaining the yard was all on him. At least you are doing something. I just say that we have adopted a natural/Bay-friendly landscaping approach.
