Interview

I got an interview tomorrow at 330- was just now told about it.

Nervous & excited   -

It's a job I don't really want, but there's an actual chance I could get it.

It's at the company I currently Temp for, and am applying for it just because it would be a way for me to get in with the company. Plus, it would be a higher salary and would include benefits like insurance and vacation time (which I currently don't have).

Problem is it's a job I really don't want to do; I'd probably be content doing it, but it's really not my "thing".

There's a chance that the position I currently have could go full time, but there's no guarantee.  This is the first time I was ever told that they were looking closely at the temps times to see if it would be less expensive to make them full time.

I'd hate to get this job and then not be able to apply for the one I have. I absolutely love what I do know and would be heartbroken at missing a chance to have it full time with this company.

What to do?

Re: Interview

  • This is only something you can decide. You have to figure out what's more important - a stable job with benefits and a higher salary, not doing what you would love to do. Or the chance that you may not have any job later..
  • If you need the money and stability of course you have to do what you have to do.  But personally I think being happy and satisfied with your job, given how much of your life it takes up, is of the utmost importance.  So if you have a chance at being happier and being in a position you care about then I would choose that.
  • Thanks
