period question

I just had a period which I thought was normal. I had two days with no bleeding, DH and I had sex and during sex I started bleeding again. The rest of the day I bled like a heavy flow day. That night it stopped and I haven't bled since. No pain during sex. Any idea what happened?

More info: I just got off the pill about 3 months ago. 3 weeks after I stopped taking the pill, I started getting really bad cramps in my left ovary. My gyno thought I had endometriosis and reccomended lapriscopic surgery to remove it. Druing surgery, he found that I did not have endometriosis, but instead had ahesions on my left ovary connecting to my intestine. He removed those successfully and I've had two periods since(including this most recent one).

Re: period question

  • Could be completely normal. When I was on birth control I would have bleeding for a day or two, then have a day or two of nothing, then bleed again for a couple days. (making for a long 6-7 day period). Since going off birth control my periods have been shorter, but some still take a day off and then continue.
  • This happens to me too. Right after I finish period I'm ready to have some fun, and if I finish, I start my period all over again (usually lasts max 2 days). Its only when I finish that I start all over again. Too weird. I looked it up and from what I found without dr opinion it is pretty normal but if you think its prob then it good to see doc. Its good for me to wait like 1 day after I am completely thru with period then I am good. :)
    Anniversary
  • I used to get this from time to time. There were no medical causes.
  • Remember, you body takes awhile to adjust after being on BC. It could take quite a few cycles to get regular, or you could be regular right away. Keep an eye on things, keep track of when this happens, and bring it up to your gyno at your next appointment.
