vacations this summer?
Where is everyone going? We aren't going anywhere unless we end up traveling for SIL's wedding. DH wants to save his vacation time for when the baby comes. I want to hear what everyone else is doing so I can be jealous!

We're headed to SF again for another wedding, but that's going to be a really short trip and not really a "vacation." We'll have fun hanging with our friends though.
No vacations planned for us right now until we see what the doctor says about MIL's cancer. She finished chemo but her CAT scan is coming up and we'll know more then. Our next big vacation will be the Africa trip we were supposed to take this year.
I'm on my vacation now
Been visiting family & friends in FL now for over 2 weeks. DH was with me the first week, and I sure do miss him now. I've had a great time, granted it's been HOT! Spending time with my friends almosts makes me wish I still lived down here.
I'm anxious to get home, but actually had to extend my time for a funeral
My brother-in-law's brother was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street on Fri. night. Crazy thing is that he was a Deputy Sheriff, and when I first heard he had been killed, I thought it had to do with his work. My sister has been married for 25 years now, so I've know their family since I was 10yrs old. It's all seems so surreal. The next couple days will be sad, especially without DH here. I'll be glad to get home on Thursday!! Enough of that!!
No more vacations planned, except maybe visiting the in-law's in PA. I'll be job hunting as soon as I get home....fun, fun

bostonbaker - Which island(s) are you going to? We went to Kauai and BI in September and it was awesome!
cwbykitty, I'm so sorry for your loss. And Rock, I hope you get some good news from the CAT scan!
Summer is my department's busiest time of year,so it's rough for me to get more than a long weekend in. Plus, my husband is getting laid off come October (joy), so we're frantically saving money for the worst case scenario. He's applying for jobs like a mad man, and he's gotten some interviews, but no luck yet. We'll probably try to get over to Newburyport for a day trip, but nothing spectacular, unfortunately.
We went in February 2011! We went to Oahu and the Big Island. We went to the Big Island on our honeymoon in 2007 but didn't get to see enough of it so we went back and still have more on our to-do list! DH is already talking about going back out there maybe next summer. We love Hawaii so much, and we have family and friends there so it's hard for us to go anywhere else on vacation since there is so much drawing us back (except for the long and expensive flights - ugh)

We're going up to the White Mountains for a long weekend in a couple of weeks. Then we have a long weekend in Maine planned for July. I'd like to get up to Maine again for a weekend in August, but we'll see. So no huge vacations for us this year.
No real vacation plans. We were planning a fun road trip to western mass, NY state and down through PA to see the Falling Water house then over to MD to visit my family, but SO has some minor health issues, and the road trip will not work out.
We are going to spend a few weekends in Maine with some friends and I'm going to Princeton, NJ for an unofficial college reunion with a bunch of teacher friends, then I'm going to head down to Maryland to see my fabulous sister and help her with her garden.
Other than that, I'm at home, writing a lot this summer.

We are going to Amsterdam, The Hague & London in August for my 30th birthday - I cannot wait!

Oh wow, SCM, that sounds awesome! I'm jealous - I've been dying to go to London for ages, but it just never seems to work out.
My ILs went to Amsterdam for my FIL's 60th birthday. (And yes, for exactly that reason.) My ILs are wacky.
LOL. My mother actually brought that subject up the other day, she was like "so-and-so told me that Amsterdam is famous with pot smokers, is that why you're going there??!!" haha. I told her I could easily partake in the comfort of my living room so no, I'm not flying thousands of miles for some ganja
Nothing really.
Trip up to Boston to see ILs in August (I have the whole week off, but we're only here Thurs-Sun) so I can spend time doing things with DS the first 3 days of my vacation.
Our $$ is all going to the Boston wedding trip in February and my sister's wedding in Bermuda next summer!
