I have an area that has partial to moderate sunlight throught the day then toward the evening there is shade...
So which type of plant would do well in this type of area?
Hibiscus or shrub , jasmine, gardenia?
Suggestions? Thoughts? Ideas?
I really have no idea. Im new to this kinda stuff!

Re: Im new to plants and all that...
thanks!
Since you're west coast you can use the Sunset plant finder. It's nice because Sunset breaks the climates down more than the usual USDA hardiness zone (for instance Portland and Austin TX have the same USDA zone) and takes into consideration things like heat, rainfall and drought. Just find your Sunset zone and select plant characteristics and it'll give you a list of recommendations.
Without knowing your zone maybe a daphne? Aureomarginata is supposed to be easy to grow. They smell so lovely.
"The meek shall inherit the earth" isn't about children. It's about deer. We're all going to get messed the fuckup by a bunch of cloned super-deer.- samfish2bcrab
Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
