People keep asking me what I want. All I have down so far is a compost container for the counter.
And I asked Abe if he will sleep through the night for me. (he told me not to hold my breath)
It used to be that I had a long list of things I wanted. I guess this is a good indication that I have all I need...ABRAHM!
Re: My Birthday Wishlist
Awww!
My DH asks me what I want for X and all I say is for us to be parents (and not eh furbaby kind). He always gives me the biggest sigh.
P.S. Finally found a box for your lens. So that will finally be in the mail tomorrow, shipping priority, so you should have it by Friday at the very latest. :-)
Friday is my birthday!! Hoooray! I'm getting a lens for my birthday!
This year, I asked for a timing belt for my birthday. And I almost cried with joy when I received it, plus an inspection sticker.
Does this mean we are old?
It would be awfully nice of Abrahm to sleep thru the night for you as a birthday gift, though. I'm sending sleepytime vibes in his adorable direction.
When I'm not asking for bellydance gear or just money for things like a new garage roof or tires for my car, my requests are usually pretty simple too. I enjoy a nice family outing out per my choice, a gift certificate to do some shopping for myself for once, some alone time at the house (aka DH, take the boy and get out of here for 2 hours- don't care where you go, just git!), a new cheap cooking goodie, or a new DVD.
You could also ask for picture frames for Abe pics, a manicure, or free babysitting services.
Ooh, good call Erika!
It's funny how that happens as you get older- I'll be turning the big 3-0 in Oct. this year, and the one thing I'm hoping for is to have found a home in Louisiana and a day to get out with Kyle and the babe. Granted, a giant sack o' cash couldn't hurt, but I'm doing my best to be realistic.
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware; joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. -Henry Miller

My birthday isn't for over a month and I'm already being asked by family what I want...it's always so strange to ask for something specific. At this point in my life, I definitely have that mushy, "everything's going so well" feeling that makes the thought of wanting more seem greedy. It's a good thing!
If I have to choose something (the torture!), I usually go with a gift certificate to a local restaurant...there's always someplace I'm realizing I really want to try.
On the "me time" end of things, you could go with a massage or pedicure gift certificate...or, better yet, an actual appointment made for you, so you don't forget about it or put off going. As a sweet surprise, my boss and I went to get pedicures yesterday (he told me we were going to be Orange Glo-ing the floors...the WORST...and yes, HE...he gets pedicures way more often than I do.) The massage chair alone was amazing...and now I can look at my hot pink toes and remember how relaxing it was...ahhh...
