NOOOOOO!!!
It's 100 degrees outside and our A/C is not working. My house is 85 and climbing right now. I am walking around in a bikini with an ice pack to cool off. Picture dramatic huffing, whining and flinging myself on the couch in agony. I cannot deal.

We called an A/C repair company right away. You're renting right, did you call your landlord already?

Man that was quick! Repairman was here within an hour, it was fixed in 15 minutes. There was something keeping the blades on the compressor from spinning, blah, blah, Chinese, and it's fine. Thank you baby Jesus!

Ours broke last summer and it took several days to get it fixed.
