two questions!
1. what stroller do you have? I remember you pointing it out in the Hershey store and saying you loved it...I know you went on lots of walks with it - are your sidewalks nice and smooth or super bumpy and uneven? What's great about the stroller? What's not great?
2. What high chair do you have? I like the colors (from your profile/FB pics of Brody in it)...do you like it? would you get it again? Is it easy to clean?
Ok, so two main questions with beaucoup subquestions!
thanks ;-)
Re: amanda
1. I have several strollers, but the one I pointed out is the Baby Jogger by City Mini. I wish I would've bought this one first!! It's extremely easy to manevuer (sp??) and I have semi-decent sidewalks where I live. It's an older neighborhood, so there are some areas that aren't so great, but the stroller handled it so well. It's easy enough to push/manevur with one hand and my FAVORITE feature is the true one-hand close. A lot of strollers brag they're able to be closed with one hand, but this one really is. There's a handle in the middle of the seat, you grab it, and the stroller folds flat. Amazing. It's made out of extremely durable materials, is fairly lightweight, and I love that it's a 3-wheel stroller without those huge wheels you find on some joggers. There's plenty of storage on the back and under the seat, and the sun canopy is huge! Oh, and it fully reclines too
A downfall of the stroller is that you have to buy all the accessories, like a parent cup holder (I bought this one and LOVE it!) and the tray that goes in front.
But, I wish I had bought this stroller before all of my others ones....I LOVE it!
2. I have the Graco Mealtime Highchair (Lively Dots) and I love it! Like you said, the colors are great, but it's also very easy to clean. The seat cover is removable and machine washable, but it's also easy to just wipe clean after meals. The tray has an insert that you can remove and stick in the dishwasher. It folds easily (although I never fold it) and is on wheels so it's easy to move around. And yes, I would totally get it again
Hope this helps!!
::butting in::
I've test driven pretty much every stroller out there more than once - working a block from a BBB doesn't hurt - and if we weren't getting a jogger, I'd get this one (we're getting an umbrella to go with the jogger). It really does fold easily and handles great and the sunshades and recline are terrific. The combi's handle similarly and fold a little more compactly, but I prefer the city minis.
if you want something smaller though, look at maclarens - the city micro has such tiny wheels it really doesnt handle well.
Thanks so much! I thought it was maybe the City Mini - that is the stroller Magda is getting.
I am thinking that we will hold off on a stroller til we NEED one. Baby will arrive in late October and I figure any walks we do in the neighborhood while it's warm enough to do so I will use a carrier...for the mall, etc, we will get a snap n go or the like for use with the car seat. By the time baby outgrows the carseat and can't use the frame thing anymore we will be into spring and ready for real walks...then I can figure out what we need! our neighborhood has really rough sidewalks - lots of mature trees so roots pushing up the sidewalks, etc and then areas where the sidewalk disappears and you have gravel or just the edge of the road for a bit.
According to Baby Bargains, Graco and Fisher Price high chairs are good - and good to know that it really cleans up easily. I was thinking of doing the space saver but really we have room in our kitchen for a high chair and I figure a lot of the feeding will take place in the kitchen (vs the dining room where there's a rug and our nicer table) because it will be easier to clean up, etc.
Thanks...we are probably going to register soon so I will do a poll of "things we must have vs things we should skip" soon :-)
I also just like the idea that I can wheel it into the dining room if we do want to have family dinner. I don't really want to put the spacesaver on one of our nice dining room chairs (leather seats) and I think our kitchen chairs are too small. So I think we'll do a full-sized high chair...
Claire, you can always test drive mine
I fell in love with the CM and couldnt look at anything else... it's just perfect for us. I wish the front wheel was not a double but oh well!
Magda - are you using the CM exclusively, with the car seat adapter?
I'm debating registering for a SnapNGo too, just to have that option but I'm not sure if I'll get a lot of use out of it.
That's my plan-- I tried the car seat adapter at Magic Beans and it was extremely sturdy (FYI, you get a $25 gift card for visiting the store and filling out a form that you met with the staff there). The chicco adapter gets mixed reviews but I think the majority of people don't install it right.
Snap N Gos are always available on craigslist so I figured I could track one down if need be....
oh I'm glad to hear the adapter is sturdy, sometimes you hear mixed things on them. We didn't try it in the store - one of the strollers did have an adapter on it, but I think it was the other adapter.
Holly, I love that you know stuff like this!
Is it bad that I debated bookmarking that strolled for future reference?
Blog
nope. I started making note of a lot of things when my friends started having kids.
I have an excel sheet of recommended items. No judgement here.
Wow! I might need to see this spread sheet one day
Love! I need to start this, I live my life off of spreadsheets.
the citi mini adaptor is nice. You might want to look in BBB - Ive plopped car seats in them to test them out. The City Select also takes them and can get a second seat even (but I dont think its the best option for toddler + baby, so its not a good reason to get a bigger stroller, just the tandem in single footprint option is cool!).
I'd skip the snap & go with a stroller that has an adapter. just more stuff, you know? I only picked on up on craigslist b/c none of the SBS strollers take two car seats and I don't want another big stroller (ala city select) w/ the Bob.
um, I might need that too!
