Murano vs CX-7 vs Equinox

Does anyone have any one of those??  Long story short, Hubby was in an accident Sat & the car has been totalled.  So these 3 are the options we're looking at to get.  We have to make a decision really quickly, since we're out a vehicle, but we don't want to make the wrong decision.  If u have any of these, what do u like or hate about them??  We test drove each model tonight, but are still deciding.  TIA

Re: Murano vs CX-7 vs Equinox

  • Oh my goodness!  I hope everyone's okay!

I don't have any recommendations, though my bff has a Murano, and loves it.  She bought it after I moved here, so I have absolutely no experience with it.  :)

    Good luck!

  • Whoa, I hope everyone is ok. Suck about the car though. My IL's have a Murano and they love it. They had to chose qucikly too since their car took a dump and those chose that. My only problem with it is, the freaking leather seats they picked. Why people have leather seats in AZ is crazy. Other then that, it's a good car.

I don't have any experience with the CX-7 (although I think they look nice), but when I was car shopping I test drove the Murano and liked it a lot. And I know a few people with Muranos that really like them.

     Good luck!

  • hope everyone is ok! I had an equinox and wasn't a huge fan of it. If I was given the choice I would pick the murano
  • Thanks ladies, everyone is fine.  It was just my hubby & an old guy involved & both were ok, just neither of the vehicles.  I'm really loving the Murano too, but of course it's the most expensive one.  :(

  • I have a Murano and absolutely love it! It drives nice, and has a lot of room. There isn't anything I don't like about it.

  • Glad everyone was okay! I know it's not one of the choices listed, but my husband and I just bought a 2007 Ford Edge a week ago and we LOVE it so far. I mention it because it is the same shape and style of the cars you listed. They've only been making them since '07 I believe so even the used ones have a lot of the same features new ones do. I love the way it drives...the only downside so far is that it has big panels in the cargo area that make it a bit hard to see when you are looking behind you to back up, but I'm sure I'll get used to it! Good luck!
  • Honestly- I had a rogue and felt the only thing the muarno had over it was slightly more interior space for a heck of a lot more money. I also was not super impressed with Nissan in general specifically Avondale Nissan (I know you live close). Their service team was horrible. Before my rogue I had a Lexus RX330 for 5 years and adored that car. It truthfully wasn't much more then the muarno but way worth it. Just my $.02.
  • I've always loved the Murano and toyed with the idea of trading my 300 for one. They drove great and I loved all the features but i loved my payment on my current car more so that dream was gone. I also test drove the cx-7 and honestly for the price i would get that car if the murano is out of your buget. It was so much fun to drive. (i may have test drove the turbo) but that car has some get up and go and had everything i wanted in it that the murano had.

  • We have a CX-7, and DH and I both really love it!  I haven't found anything that I don't like about it yet, and DH chooses to drive it over his BMW 95% of the time...  which says a lot for him.

We don't have kids yet or anything to need all of the room that it has, but it has more than enough.  When we had family down visiting, we used it a lot, and it was never an issue getting everyone in and moving suitcases and people around for the wedding.  We used it to pack all of the stuff for the reception in and out of the venue without any issues in one trip.  We've taken it on really long road trips and it doesn't get uncomfortable, and doesn't have any issues at all on different road types/conditions.

We had it in the last big blizzard in Prescott this last winter and it did great in the snow and ice too!
