Daydreaming Trips...

It's a slow day and working so I'm starting to day-dream vacations for next year. I'm really getting antsy to do a trip we'd never even think of doing with kids. I've got thinks in my head like hiking the Inca trail, an African safari, New Zealand, and Thailand. DH has such limited vacation time it's hard to go anywhere too far. Anyone have any ideas for me.

Costa Rica or Kauai sound somewhat doable to me... I've also got a friend who is most likely going to be living in Europe next year so that's another possability .... stupid travel bug Stick out tongue

Re: Daydreaming Trips...

  • DH and I are hoping to go to an AI resort this fall... either Mexico or the DR. (Been to Jamaica already). I'm keeping an eye out for a good deals on airfare and resorts!

DH keeps talking about Europe- specifically Ireland and England. He really wants to go next year.

Both of us wished we had studied abroad in college to get some of the travel bug out of us. Ce la vie!

  • We spent 10 nights in Australia for our honeymoon almost 3 years ago.  I still think about going back daily and know that it won't happen for another 10 years or more.

  • Hitched are you on LivingSocial Escapes deals? Right after I saw your post one popped up for the DR. They always seem to have some for Mexico too.

I think studying abroad just makes the travel bug worse...lol

I was all set to do a summer one in Italy but then the government changed a bunch of regulations so I couldn't go (It was right when all the Amanda Knox stuff was in full swing so that could have caused it)

  • OMG... A Groupon type site for travel. This could be a problem! (I'm addicted to buying food gift certificates lately.) Thanks for letting me know about that!

I checked on the DR deal they have. It's a little more than I want to spend per night, plus quite a drive from the airport. I am looking at flying direct out of Chicago for this vacation... I'm just tired of the layovers being 6 hours. Otherwise we will be flying out of Moline if the layovers and price aren't too bad. I'll keep my fingers crossed!!

  • I wish we could go on a vacation this year. We've been married 3 years (together for almost 8) and have never been on a trip together... not even a honeymoon. Our first LO is due in October, so vacation will be out of the question for quite some time.
