i know it is likely that none of you will know these people....well i know blondie will know but i just tried to call her and no answer (as i am sure she is working hard...LOL), but i just ran into some of my musical "heroes" today while walking back to work from this recruiting fair at the bjcc....they are from a group called Bela Fleck and the Flecktones

i was walking past the sheraton...and i noticed this guy that looked VERY familiar to me...and then i saw another guy standing next to him who also looked VERY familiar to me....and at first, i was just going to keep walking....but i decided, "no...turn around and go say hi!" so i walked up to one of the guys and was like "futureman??" and he says "hi!" and i was just start struck!!! LOL

the other guy he was standing with is jeff coffin (he plays sax with the flecktones, and actually filled in on the last half of the DMB tour after LeRoi's accident and death)....and i was able to shake jeff's hand and thank him for what he did for the DMB community...and it just meant a lot to be able to do that....

i told him i was at the show in memphis, and we talked about how hot it was....and it was just so neat to be able to do that!!!

i have met them before at some of their shows, but it was so neat to just "run into" them on the streets of birmingham!

if it weren't for my facination with all things DMB, i would have never really been introduced to their music either... but i have been a fan now for quite a few years, and it was just so neat to just bump into them!!! AH! still freaking out on the inside....i felt like such a little kid... LOL.

That's awesome Lauren!  I've heard of them, but I wouldn't know who they were if I saw them.  It's pretty cool when you run into random celebrities.
