Aloe plant and bugs

I've never posted here before, but I have an aloe plant that we keep inside. It seems to be growing fine, but there are always little gnats or something similar flying around it. Is there any way to get rid of them? I'm a plant novice so any tips are welcome! Thanks!

Re: Aloe plant and bugs

  • If it is an indoor plant then this may be from moist soil.  Be sure the plant dries out between waterings and the problem should go away.  Fungus gnats are common when the soil remains constantly moist.  My sister even told me to put a top layer of sand in the pot with the plant to prevent the gnats from laying eggs.

The Aloe plant should be watered every couple of days and can handle being left a weekend alone without water.

     Hope this helps!!
