I am throwing a bbq for 11 people. It'll be on a Sunday at noon and is an anniversary party. I think light apps should be fine since it is at noon, plus I'm trying to keep it sort-of healthy.
Drinks -- cooler of beer, champagne, pink lemonade, water, coffee
Appetizers -- strawberries, veggie tray
Main -- beef kabobs (beef, cherry tomatoes, onions, red/yellow/green peppers), grilled chicken
Sides -- pasta salad, spinach salad, rolls, chips
Dessert -- cupcakes
What would you change/add? TIA
Re: XP: menu help
I think it sounds good.
My personal tweeks- replace the coffee with iced tea. Move the strawberries to dessert and have a few things to dip them in- chocolate, powdered sugar, and fruit dip. For another app I'd do a shrimp spread/dip thing (I have a simple recipe if you want it). I'd consider one other side- a potato salad, broccoli slaw/salad, baked beans.
There are lots of veggies on there. You have a veggie tray, grilled vegetables, and a salad. Consider switching the veggie tray for a cheese and cracker tray with grapes.
I would also move the strawberries to dessert if you pair them with sour cream and brown sugar; just dip the berry in the one, then the other. So good!

Drinks- I don't know your guests tastes but I can say that I'm not a fan of champagne and I hate beer. If I wanted to drink- I'd want a bottle of wine there to chose from too.
Appetizers- maybe add a 'cool veggie pizza' (kraftfoods.com has a great recipe- easy and cheap) or something else. I'm undecided on the strawberries- but totally recommend the dip suggestions from other posters.
Sounds Delish!
