Thankful Thursday on a Friday :)
What are you thankful for today?
- I'm super happy that the school year is over and I can relax and enjoy summer break with friends and family.
- I'm thankful that I get along with my IL's and they make our lives easier in their own little ways.
- I'm thankful that DH had another great oncology appointment this week. We're almost to the 2 years in remission mark!
Re: Thankful Thursday on a Friday :)
That is great news about your DH!!!
I am thankful that the official u/s report came back and everything is in fact, looking good and normal with the baby. still trying to adjust to the fact I will be the lone woman in a house of men, but whatever!
Such wonderful news! I can't believe it has been almost 2 years.
That is great news, Sheri! I cannot believe it's been almost 2 years. Wow.
This one is going to sound silly, but I'm thankful that DH and I know how to argue. I can still vividly remember our fights back when we were dating - they'd last forever, get heated and emotional. It was a nightmare. This morning we sort of exploded with each other on the way out the door and within 10 minutes, were on the phone, each apologizing. No angst. No long, drawn-out battles. We know how to get over the stupid stuff and I'm thankful for it.
Thanks... this is how DH and I were back in the day. I feel like the longer we are together, the better we get at communication. I guess that's what naturally happens when you spend so much time with someone. I know for me, I had a hard time communicating my feelings when we were dating/engaged and even first married. I've gotten much better at saying what I'm thinking and not holding it in.
Great news about your DH!
I am thankful for the healthy baby I'm carrying and a supportive and patient DH.
I am thankful that today, Monday and Tuesday I get off work at 2pm and plan on going home to nap afterwards every.single.day.
Sounds cheesy but in honor of Father's Day I am so grateful for my Dad. Besides DH, he is my best friend and I don't want to begin to imagine how my siblings and I would have turned out without him. He is awesome and he invites me to lots of concerts.
Our communication in general has improved ten-fold as well, which I guess as you said is a natural progression from being together for so long. We're better at picking our battles (though the one this morning a stupid explosion of temper on both of our parts - it's bound to happen occasionally), better at talking things out, better at articulating what we're thinking/feeling and better at knowing what each other needs. He no longer things my tears are manipulative, he just knows I cry at everything and can't freakin' help it. I no longer get po'ed because he needs a cool-down time after a larger argument and before discussing it.
Our relationship is so much easier and less angsty now, thank God. I wouldn't have the energy for the crap we went through when dating. I don't ever want to end up single again, but if I do, I'm dying an Old Maid. It's too damn much work to start over.
Aw Sheri that's great about DH.
I'm thankful for my aunt. She helped us this week when my daycare closed due to HFM disease. I know I saw this a lot, but I really don't know what I would do without her.
I'm thankful that my daughter went to sleep last night w/o crying hysterically for the first time in a week. That was getting old and painful!
I'm grateful my husband bought himself a bunch of new clothes this week. Honestly, his casual clothes were getting embarrassing and I was debating how/what to say about it, but w/o a word from me, he went to Old Navy (2x this week!) and bought a ton of new shorts and T-shirts.
I'm grateful that my husband and I are on the same page w/ how to raise DD and that are we are doing a pretty good job at it and maintaining our sanity and having fun.
I'm thankful for the 28 hours of overtime I worked last week in TX, it's going to help pay down the CC bill.
I'm thankful to be home from TX, it was a great work experience, made some great contacts, but exhausting with long hours and intense work.
I'm thankful for such a great family. DH had to work long hours last week while I was on travel and both sets of parents and my sister stepped in and did a few DC pick ups, helped with dinner and bath with DH and he slept over at my IL's twice, which helped DH A LOT! It's times like these I'm really reminded why I don't want to move away from family.
....and for the PB and chocolate chip tart I made this week, DH and J love it, my waistline I'm afraid does not.
I'm obviously thankful that it's Friday...I really need a weekend!
I'm thankful for the great weather we've had this week.
I'm thankful for my Dad too :-) He has always been there for me and he's been here for DH and I with house matters 100%. He's driven up here to help us move and to help us with improvements on the house twice already. He's planning on coming back in another week. I don't know what I would do without him.
I'm thankful to have an incredible husband who is super patient and puts up with my craziness :-)

I'm thankful I had a bag of Trader Joe's Gummy Tummies in my office today since my leftovers sucked.
That's great news about your husband!
I'm thankful for time at home with Keefe. It's been fun this week and the nights have been perfect for long walks.
In addition to things that I'm always thankful for, like the fact that H and I are both healthy, that we have a house, my dog, supportive family, etc...
I'm thankful that the weather has been nice for the past few days, and that we have lots of heat to look forward to instead of cold and snow!
I'm thankful that my job is super flexible.
And I'm thankful that pink and orange calla lillies are finally starting to bloom in my garden, they're so pretty

I am thankful that today is Friday. I am thankful that DD is only waking up 1 or 2 times per night to nurse.
Glad to hear your DH is almost to the 2 year mark!
Shari - that's awesome!!!
I'm thankful that today is my last day at the job from hell!!! I'll miss a select few people but I'm so glad it's over.
I'm thankful to be starting a new job in a new field on Monday. (super nervous, but excited)
I'm thankful for DH - we've had to really cut back on spending and work on budgeting. It's been a tough few months, but we're working really hard on it and hopefully this new job will really help us.
I'm thankful for my family and friends - totally random sidenote...when I was in FL last week, my family...the inital 4 (parents, my sister, and I) were able to have dinner together - no significant others or anything. We haven't done that in forever and it was actually really nice.
