Montreal recommendations for my parents

Hello Canadian Nesties and others who have visited the Montreal area.  We're from South Carolina.  My Mom is going with my Dad on his business trip next week.  I usually research things to do and restaurants before they go on his trips.  Since I know very little at all about Montreal, would you ladies mind giving me tips on favorite restaurants and must do things in the Montreal area.  I believe they will be there about a week.

They love to sight see and find great restaurants the locals love.  Their favorite meals are Italian, steak houses, soups, salads, and yummy brunch or breakfast places.  They do like seafood too.  I browsed Tripadvisor and found that so many menus not only feature foie gras, but some restaurants seem to use it in almost every dish.  I understand it's a traditional French ingredient, but I'm not sure that or other organ meats will appeal to them at all.  I did bookmark some of the restaurants on Tripadvisor that are rated highly and sounded good to me, but I appreciate recommendations from those of you who have been to or live in the area.

They're pretty frugal so moderately price restaurants would be great, not that they won't splurge for pricier places too. They often will share a meal and order a large salad to share also. My Dad is really into photography so any must see photo ops, especially beautiful landscapes, national parks, animals, etc. They are not into hiking or adventure sports, but do love to enjoy the outdoors walking or driving and taking photos. They love art shows and craft shows. My brother is a glass artist, and isn't going with them, but if anyone knows of cool glass artist studios or galleries in the area for my parents to check out that'd be great too. They also love music.

They're not big drinkers at all, but will occasionally enjoy some wine, sangria, or margaritas when out with friends and coworkers. My Dad loves very dark beers.  If there are any must visit breweries or brands of beer to try in the area, I'd like to know.

Our boys are 4 and 2, and my parents love to bring something back for them from their trips.  Sometimes a t-shirt, book, or other souvenir from something they really enjoyed in the area they traveled to.  They brought them plush horned sheep from the Southwestern US (because apparently my Dad has always wanted to see one in person, but he didn't see one) and a ranger shirt and hat for my older son and some drums handmade by Native Americans.  So obviously they're into things very unique to the culture of the areas they visit.  Any recommendations for things or places they might find special and worth visiting to share with our boys?  Thanks in advance.
