I need your suggestions. My boss's sister just graduated and is going to be a teacher starting next fall. She'll be teaching special education elementary in Florida. Here is where I need your help and suggestions. He wants to get her a useful graduation present for when she starts teaching.
He mentioned a nice bag to carry her things in but isn't sure. What is something that you found useful. TIA
Re: Calling all teachers...
A bag is great! I got one when I graduated and used it for the last 5 years (until I finally wore it out).
Also, good pens. You can never have enough good pens. I love pens.

I love the bag idea!
Good, but not expensive pens, because you'll lose them/ kids will end up with them.
One of the things I'm planning on doing is getting a colour coded binder system in place for next year. I'm very excited about it. It sounds totally lame, but there you go.

Have I told you about my copy crate? I love it. I have a crate with hanging folders with color coded folders inside...and I keep everything I copy in the crate...Red is for grammar assignments, yellow is for our daily poems, green is for other Language Arts assignments, blue is for reading assignments, and orange is for social studies assignments. I also have a purple folder in the back with puzzles and such for kids that are done with work (in study hall or such) or for a sub if a kid is saying he/she has nothing to do. I love it...I can get copied ahead of time and keep everything organized instead of in piles on my desk.

That sounds brilliant!
