Emailing animal shelters, rescues and fosters on Petfinder, inquiring about adopting a puppy.

DH has been talking about it for months now, and with him home for the next little bit, it seems like the perfect time to do it. Our German Shepherd needs a friend, and I think it's time.

I've been holding off because I didn't want to deal with barking/peeing/training/etc., but just kind of realized that we've BEEN dealing with that, and I love it!

So we'll see! I don't want to tell DH yet ... I'd love to surprise him when/if I hear back on any of these guys. 

Come on, though ... this FACE!

Aw! We were hoping to get a puppy at our new place because one of the apts we tried to get allowed dogs. The place we got doesn't though.

So adorable... We've gone back and forth for a couple of years about getting a second dog but we just don't have the space, the money or the time for another right now  :-/

Our house is huge (we can even have a dedicated dog room if we wanted one), money is tight but not too problematic (especially when DH starts working again) and with DH home for the next few months (at most), it seems like a perfect time.

Plus, we can put the dogs in the basement living room with tiled floors during the day to avoid much pee cleanup.

he's cute! My DH only wants to stick to one dog for now but he is open to adding another cat to the household. I suggested an older female cat as those don't get adopted too often.
