Good Northwest Suburb Craft Fairs?

Hi there - could anyone suggest some good craft fairs they have been to in the northwest suburbs?  My MIL lives in Rolling Meadows and I would like to go to some with her for the holidays - we have the list from the Daily Herald, but it is hard to know what will be great and what is not worth stopping by - and there are too many to check them all out!  I'd be looking for fun gift ideas, home decor/entertaining pieces, jewelry, or anything festive for the holidays.  If you can recommend any that are "must sees" or that you visit every year, I would greatly appreciate it.  TIA!

Re: Good Northwest Suburb Craft Fairs?

  • Good question... I'd be interested in the answer to this one as well!
  • There's one coming up in November at Arlington Race Track that's huge and totally worth it.  There's coupons in the DH for it usually.  That's one of my favorites.  The best summer ones are the Arlington Heights Frontier Days during 4th of July weekend one and the Schaumburg Septemberfest during Labor Day weekend.  There used to be some at Harper a few times a year that were pretty big too.  I forgot what they were called...I used to get mailings from them.

I usually try to figure out how many booths there will be and the higher the number, the better it is.

  • Thanks for the help!  I definitely have Arlington Park on my calendar - but it's not a great weekend for me schedule-wise, so I was hoping to check out some - hopefully this weekend.  I looked up the date of Harper's College and it is the same as Arlington Park.

If anyone has any additional ideas, let me know.  Thanks so much!

  • hi, check out www.dailyherald.com and there is a section to click on the front page that lists all the holiday bazaars in the area.
