I've never liked my name...when i was 6, i "changed" my name to Jackie lol I refused to answer to Kelly, and made everyone call me Jackie for weeks! I even found a birthday card when I was moving that was addressed to "Jackie <last name>" lol i was weird
I always wanted to be a Jessica. Whenever I'd play school or house my name was Jessica. I had a little desk and wrote Jessica on it in marker.
I was almost named Amanda so my mom could call me "Mandy" (she was 18!) but my grandma intervened and said I looked like a "Summer" and the rest (a lifetime of teasing) is history!
I never liked Whitney because with going to Catholic school, everyone would have to have a patron saint and most people went by their name. There is no Whitney or Elaine (my middle name). Or they would ask what you were name after and my dad just picked my name randomly. I always wished my mom had gotten her way and named me family names like Rebecca or Margaret but my dad did not want me to be called the nicknames for those.
I also love Samantha after the American Girl.

I like my name. I always have. One thing that I like is that I can use "Kathryn" in more professional settings if I feel the need to come across as more mature than just "Kathy", which i totally associate with a younger person.
I was named after my great grandmother, but they called her Katie. I'm glad I'm not "Katie".
That said, I love the less common spelling of my name, but people always get it wrong. I wish that were a little more straightforward.
when i was a little girl i wanted to change it to Erika, no idea why. But I do remember one day at the store a girls name was Erika and my mom told her how I wanted to change me name, so she gave me her name tag. Hahah
I love my name because not a lot of people have it.
Funny, my whole life I've associated "Kathy" with much older b/c my mom's best friend's name is Kathy.
I'm a breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, co-sleeping, anti-CIO Mommy
