Re: How was your weekend?
My sister got her white coat for DPT school Friday and she came over with her boyfriend that night for some celebratory wine. Lots of it. Saturday we stayed in bed pretty late recovering from the wine and then ran errands to Garden Ridge and Home Depot.
Sunday was miserable. DH woke up on the wrong side of the bed and was in a foul mood all day. We didn't make it to my parents' until 4 and he was clearly grumpy the whole time we were there. Then he was grumpy when we got home. Not fun. Holidays can be difficult for him since he's estranged from his mom and stepdad and doesn't know his real father but this is the first time he's gotten this upset about Father's Day. I don't even know what to say other than to just be supportive and try not to get pissed when he acts like an ass. Anyway, hopefully he's in a better mood today.
Pretty good! Saturday was JJ's family party for the baby, which was much better than I expected. I feel bad, but only 2 of the 10 couples IL's invited came over (their friends) but I don't even know any of them, so I wasn't too excited about having to make small talk with strangers and have them stare at my stomach. Luckily it was primarily family and JJ's high school friends.
Yesterday we went to BRU and exchanged some duplicate gifts and bought some of the really fun things, like safety kits, changing table pads and breast cream! Fun times
JJ decided on Chipotle for lunch, and then we went to IL's for dinner. Watched the golf and did some yardwork otherwise.
Saturday we made our last big purchase for the nursery.. a lazyboy recliner rocker. So much more comfortable than the BRU ones and it matches our living room furniture so we will be able to use it for awhile. DH picks it up Tuesday and then the nursery is complete.
Sunday DH decided to sleep all freaking day. He had to work at 4. He woke up at 11 we order Chinese food and then he needed a nap. Needles to say I was not a happy girl. I cleaned the house and went to bed early.
DH was a sweetheart Saturday and took the boys off for several hours, so I got some serious organizing done around the house. Got the guest bedroom, boys bedroom, and our bedroom cleared out and organized. Only have to reorganize our closet. Also, got some serious amounts of laundry done, and some mad cleaning.
Sunday was a lazy day. We slept in (as much as the boys allowed us), then had a big breakfast and ran some errands. DH cut the grass while we did some gardening, then talked to IL's on Skype and I called my Dad.
Not too big a deal, but it was a nice weekend.
"My 101 List - Updating asap, I swear!
So busy, but good!
Friday, my mom and sister brought my nephew by for a bit. I read him a story and he just stared at me the whole time- he was so into it! Then we spent the rest of the evening preparing for our garage sale.
Saturday, we got up bright and early and had our garage sale. Then we took 2 trips to Goodwill to donate everything that didn't sell. We went to Pottery Barn kids after that cuz the crib sheets we ordered came in. Spent the rest of the day emptying out our kitchen.
Sunday was Deconstruction Day! Some friends and family came over and helped us tear down the kitchen. A breakfast bar/wall thing is gone. All cabinets and countertops are gone, the backsplash is gone, and we tore out the floor. It looks so much more open without that wall there! Once everyone else left, DH and I did some spackling and cleaned up the mess.
Needless to say, we're exhausted!
This was our first "unemployed" weekend so it was super low key, but also nice to take a week off from major D&R and/or going out and spending money. We spent quality time with our kitty, went swimming, and made strawberry banana daquiris.
I still squeezed in a small D&R project though and repainted some canvases:
Saturday we went to Village Bread for breakfast, ran a few errands, went to a birthday party for one of B's friends then went and picked up B's birthday present from Sam's and to Carrabba's for dinner with my parents. My parents took B home and DH and I ran to the mall to get my dad's Father's Day gift.. we have a small problem with procrastinating
Sunday DH and B made homemade blueberry pancakes, then we ran to the Avenues to get B new shoes and for him to make a Build-a-Bear to take to the hospital when he comes to meet his baby sister. We spent the rest of the day relaxing in the pool and grilling out at my parents house.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

Saturday- I went shopping with my mom. She kept Trevor overnight. DH hung out with his friends and I went off to one of my friend's house.
Sunday- Pretty low key. We played softball early in the morning. Just hung out the restof the day.
