True Blood themed party... help!

We're throwing a True Blood season premiere BBQ on Sunday and we all have to bring a TB themed dish or drink.  Help!

So far, we have red velvet cupcakes, talbot's spiked punch, maybe some way to make "V"

but i can't think of any other vampire/true blood themed foods!  Any TB fans out there that can help me get my creative juices flowing??  Thanks!!

Re: True Blood themed party... help!

  • Not food-specific but here are some ideas...

    • Get a few beaded curtains to hang in doorways that people will likely go in & out of- a la Lafayette's house
    • Use white plastic cups and affix Merlott's logos to them.  Or change the lable on beer bottles to TruBlood labels.  I know there is a product called Tru Blood but I personally have no desire to try it!  Ha!  Could be good for decoration though?
    • Are you having burgers?  That's a Merlott's kind of thing.
    • Make one of Gram's famous pies?  Maybe pecan since that's the pie that Sookie finished off after her Gram died?
    • Give everyone some plastic fangs
    • Greet everyone in thick southern accents when they come in :)
    • Red jello?
    • Red kool aid or punch?
    • Black and red table cloths, plates, napkins, etc.

    GL!  Sounds fun!

  • It's gross, but all I can think of is a "Daphne's heart meatloaf" from Season 2.  :)

  • I did a Twilight-themed party for my grad school graduation (I wrote my thesis on the series). Some of the things we did were generically vampire-y. Here's my blog post about it: http://littlelionslife.blogspot.com/2011/01/twilight-party-recap.html

My biggest recommendation would be to swing by BevMo and see if they happen to have Vampire wine or Vampire vodka (dyed red) in stock. That was a big hit at my party!
