Hotel in New Braunfels with good proximity to Gruene?
Is for a group trip, so cheaper is better. Any recs for some places to stay that would be pretty close to Gruene?

How big is the group? Have you looked into renting a house on vrbo.com?
Not sure. Some will be there longer than others. With this particular group, a hotel where we can each pay for our own rooms would really be best. DH and I will only be there for 1 night.
even then it still might be worth it to look into. I've often found a house is WAY cheaper than a hotel room.
If you are open you might want to contact longhornbabe. Her parents rent out theirs for a fantastic price. It was perfect!

we've stayed at the Faust Hotel before, and I really liked it. it's older, so you have to expect "character", but we like that kind of thing.
Beautiful building.
there are lots of B&B's in Gruene, if you're interested in that. we've stayed at the Lamb's Rest Inn, and liked it.
