Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Whats the best way to dispose of grease or oil?

  • not sure if its the "right" way but I usually just pour it into an empty can I have from cooking.  If I don't have a can, I let it cool and then I'll put in a bag or something and put in trash.

    This is what I do too. If it's not a lot, I'll swipe it out of the pan with a paper towel. But it always goes in the trash.

  • I do the can thing, too.  I keep a couple of clean, empty jelly or mayo bottles for this purpose.   
  • I use an empty pasta jar. As soon as I notice it starting to fill up, I'll clean out the next one I use and keep it for the same purpose. This way I have a lid and I don't have to worry about it leaking and making a mess.
