Girls Day Out Activities in Oakbrook? for Bachelorette Party

My best friend already had a Bachelorette party in Vegas, but a ton of the girls couldn't go, so I wanted to throw her a local Bachelorette Party but more of a "Girl's Day Out".  Oakbrook is a central location for all of the girls so I thought it would be a good option.  So far I reserved a little room at Wildfire grill and we are going to do an early lunch and lingerie party there since we will be in a private room.  Then I was thinking Mani/Pedis at a nearby salon but then I'm drawing a blank for what to do for the next couple hours.  We are not going out at night to clubs since most of the ladies are Moms already and can't leave their little ones more than just during the day.  Anyone know the area really good and could recommend some girly activities that would be fun?

I thought maybe we could do something silly like take a belly dancing class or see a psychic but my google searches for this stuff is not turning anything up.  Hopefully you ladies have some ideas....I stink at party planning LOL :)

  • Have you looked at Drury Lane for a show?  Not sure if they have day shows but I think they do on Saturdays.  I'm almost positive they do on Sundays.

Otherwise, if you are doing this in the summer you could rent a hotel room so you could have access to the pool and just veg at the pool all day.  Not sure if thats something moms are interested in doing but I'd think they would enjoy relaxing at a pool not watching kids.  The only hotel in the area I know of that has an outdoor pool though is Oak Brook Hills Marriott.

Otherwise have you considered going downtown?  I know its kinda far but there is so much more to do- there just isnt a whole lot to do in the burbs during the day.  There is also the Botanical Gardens up north.

Keep in mind for mani/pedis, most nice salons only have 2 pedi chairs so that could be a lot of people sitting around doing nothing and may be very boring for more than 4 girls to participate in.

  • There is a salon on W. 16th that I advise against! The manager was rude and even though they had a ton of chairs, they didn't have enough people working. They only used 3-4 chairs at a time.  She took walk-ins while making people who had appointments wait (I waited over 45 min, with an appointment).
  • You could end with dessert at The Melting Pot?
