Have you heard about this? Actor (51) marries 16 year old
Re: Have you heard about this? Actor (51) marries 16 year old
My cousin posted the story last night on Facebook with the following comment, which I then copied-and-pasted to my own profile page because I thought she summed it up so nicely:
"I would like to point out that this marriage is completely legal (with parental consent, I'll assume), while there are millions of same sex couples that are denied the legal benefits of marriage these two are able to get. Is this what they mean by "sanctity of marriage?""
And her parents, who presumably gave parental consent, need to be biitchslapped.
Well said, FIA! (by way of FIA's cousin)
Yeah I saw this other article that said this about her parents:
According to the New York Post, Stodden?s parents were perfectly accommodating. "Doug is a wonderful man and we love him,? her mother said. ?They are very much in love and we are so supportive of this.?

ewww
also - they'll be divorced w/in one year.
Are there more photos available other than that posed one that's accompanying every article? I'd be curious to see more, because from that one, he certainly doesn't look 51, either. Not that I'm doubting the facts, I'm just curious.
She doesnt look like any 16 year old I know!
It's funny because my co-worker said "this is why I don't ever want a daughter-if I have kids" my response was "well if you have a son, he could turn out to be the 51 year old creep that married the 16 year old."
FIA, the only picture I saw was the one on his website, the one where it looks like he is trying nuzzle her clevage.
I found these on her "official website". And these are the most toned-down ones I could find. She doesnt look like someone who was in the Miss Teen pageants and wants to be a country singer.
Ew, just ew. Her parents are morons--I don't think I'm going out on a limb to think that they see this as her ticket to fame so why not?
And this is why "But we're in LUUUUURRVVVEE!!!" is a stupid reason to commit to marriage. I hate when people brush off all the reasons it absolutely should not happen because "they're just so in love".

The do not look 51 and 16, they actually look like a decent age match just based on physical appearance.
But if she was into pageants, I am not surprised she looks so old for her age, since those girls start with the spray tans, fake eyelashes and hair extensions at age 4 (the extreme ones).
I also heard them talking on the radio that her age was rumored to be different, although I'm not sure why you would pretend to be 16 and need your parents' permission to get married if you really are older... the whole thing is creepy and strange. Why wouldn't her parents just make her wait two years to get married?
She looks like Gretchen from RH-OC - who's 32.
When I first saw that picture I thought the woman was the 51yo and the guy was the 16yo...
And well said, FIA

I'm glad you guys posted pics...I couldn't find any when I first heard about this yesterday.
And frankly, I'm not surprised that her parents gave consent. They let her take those photos which are NOT age appropriate. Why not let her marry someone when she's 16? Kids these days (yup, I'm gonna use that phrase) are out of control. My brother is a senior and this kind of behavior is apparently the norm...teenagers acting like they're 21. Boy, my son is going to hate me when he's a teenager! I plan on being a little more strict than most of the parents you hear about now.
