Just saw on the WCSH6 news page that there is a proposal to merge the Camden/Rockport and PenBay Chambers, wow! They say that all employees will retain positions, but is it something you're in support of? Maybe less hardcore weekend hours for events???

Yah its been in the works for a while now and the big vote is tomorrow night. I think its a great idea and will give us the 3rd biggest chamber in the state and will also allow us to have a louder voice on issues in Augusta. it makes sense financially for the membership too becasue a good portion of both memberships are dual members so they have a bill that is 2x's as high as it would be if we just had 2. I will keep my job it will just be tweaked a bit to let me specailize in the tourism field so that I'm happy about. Nothing really changes in the office I will stay in Camden and the girls in Rockland will stay there. The only thing that will change really will be the name (which will be picked tomorrow too) so all in all its a good thing I think.
I am hoping for less hours on the weekend but we shall see
Nice- I'm glad to hear that it's going to be a good change with a lot of positive impact for the community, I'll keep my fingers crossed that all goes well with the vote tonight! It sounds like it will have a positive effect on your job as well, which is always a great thing, and you'll still be able to maintain your offices pretty much as before.
I am definitely going to need to make a plan for my own "tourist" trip up to Rockland soon, depending on what this baby gets up to- it's been way too long since I've seen you!
