Who else is majorly affected by St. Francis/ Anthem ordea?
Just curious....my ob/gyn, pediatrician seem to be out for me, and any future kids won't be born there. Where you transferring to?
Re: Who else is majorly affected by St. Francis/ Anthem ordea?
What happened?
Um yeah, I had letters coming in this summer where St. Francis and Cigna were having issues -- apparently they worked it out though.
Then I lost my job and went on Mike's insurance (Anthem/BC) --- good to know because I haven't heard anything about this, which means that we won't be using St. Francis in Mooresville I guess. Community South it is.
That's weird... this is THE FIRST I have heard... grr... I am NOT switching doctors so I guess I'll have to add more to my health savings.. grr.. ;(
I thought it was St. Vincent?
FYI..this will help you in the long run, St. Francis seems to be one of the only hospitals taking on the insurance companies concerning the rules, guidelines and reimbursments. Currently, a a provider has no say so in reimbursment and/or medical criteria when it comes to Anthem/BCBS, we (i am in contracting...not w/ St. Francis) because of how many lives they hold.
Also, double check with your physicans, they have seperate contracts from the hospital and they typically practice at more then one hospital. So you could still see the family doc and go to St.V, Community and/or Clarian.
MH talked to his insurance broker and said that this kind of this is common. The health care provider will say it won't be an in network provider anymore and then they change their minds at the last minute. He (the broker) seemed to think it would blow over.
I also see my old ob/gyn weekly (her kids come to my work to swim) and I talked to her about it. She had the same thinking as the broker.
It's so devastating though St Francis is a HUGE medical provider in my area as well as the state. I have other options, but I have been with these people for years.
