I'm hosting book club on Friday and am kind of disappointed in the response...I know it's summer and all, so I guess there's not much you can do about though. There are 5 girls (including me). Typically it's BYOB and hostess (me) serves apps.
For 5 people; what could/should I make? (its at 7pm on Friday)
I'm thinking
-carrot sticks, cucumbers and bell pepper slices with hummus and ranch to dip in
-Emily's buffalo chicken dip w/chips
then maybe another "hearty" app and a fruit and dessert? what do you think? I'm also debating on making sangria.
Re: Help planning food
How about the filled strawberries that Emily made from the recipe I posted a while back? They're so good!
There's also that Italian dip that I've posted before...it's super easy and always very popular. Oh, and the pizza dip recipe that's been discussed on here several times.

ooo ooo! Why aren't these recipes (I know the strawberry one is though) in the sticky?!

Here is the Italian dip...so good and so easy to make!

I'll have to find where I put the pizza one, or maybe someone else has it handy?

I don't know if this is the pizza dip recipe that has been discussed here, but I've had it and it's yummy.

Also, I'd put pita chips out with the hummus along with the vegetables. I love hummus, but prefer it with pita chips or naan.
Here's my fav go-to easy app-- tortilla rolls
mix sour cream with salsa in a bowl (use chunky salsa and drain the water out).
Add in a jalepeno if you want a little extra kick
spread on a tortilla like you would sauce on a pizza. Roll the tortilla up like they do sushi, slice into 1 inch pieces and enjoy!
Thanks; someone made these last club; otherwise I'd definitely do them!!
