I need a quick, cheap, and transportable app

The day before my daughter's baptism we are doing a bday party for my mom and 2 nieces.  Dinner is BBQ pork and sides.  Dessert is taken care of.  My sister asked if I could make an app.  Given everything we have the next day, I need something cheap and easy.  My sister lives 45 mins away so I need to transport too.

Those shrimp look awesome.  I'm not firing the grill up at my sisters for one app, but that will be on my table sometime soon.

Would an assortment of cheese cubes (traveling in a cooler/double ziplock with ice), crackers, apples sliced on arrival, and nuts be too simple?

I should have mentioned cheese is taken, as is chips and salsa.  My family doesn't care for hummus and I don't want to mess with a veg tray. 

I can safely transport cold and I can heat something up there.  I can also bake something and keep it hot for the drive.  I have some awesome pyrex with insulated carrier stuff.

Just looking for something else snacky while we play outdoor games.

Cowboy caviar with fritos?  Homemade Chex or Goldfish mix?  Seasoned pretzels and nuts?  Frozen mini quiche?

I've searched my saved recipes and entertaining journal and most of my apps are the serve immediately types that just wouldn't do well.

Fruit skewers (watermelon, cantelope, honey dew, grapes)?  Add some yogurt dip (use cooler to transport) if you want to get fancy.

I suggest bruschetta.. You get a long baguette and slice it.  drizzle the slices with a little olive oil and minced garlic and bake for like 5-10 min in the oven to your desired crispness.  Chop some tomatoes, maybe cube some mozzerella, basil, any spices you would like and drizzle the mixture with a bit of oilive oil.  You can keep the tomatos seperate and have people spoon there own or plate it once you arrive.  you can add anything to the tomato mixture or not even use tomatoes at all.  I have used sundried tomatos, artichoke hearts, peas, any diced veggie works great.

My other suggestions is cocktail weenies in a crossiant blanket. Slice the refrigerated crossant in half long ways and wrap around a cockatil weenie.  bake per the crossiant instrucions and have different dipping sauces.
