ATL restaurants

Hoping you can help me out-we are having a girls weekend in Atlanta in August and are looking for some great restaurants.  We are all foodies and love our mimosas/sangria/wine!  Any suggestions-breakfast, lunch, dinner?  We are staying Sandy Springs-but will have cars.  Thanks.

Re: ATL restaurants

  • I am really in love with TopFlr. They have amazing food and drinks and a very cool vibe.

If you are going out dancing and like an eclectic crowd Noni's can be a really fun time. It doesn't really get hopping until after 10ish.  If a guy named Joseph is DJing the place is a blast.

Amuse! is a great place to go for brunch. It's a french Bistro.

  • For breakfast and an ATL staple, I'd hit up The Flying Biscuit on Piedmont. Its a madhouse on Sat-Sun so get there early.

L/D: there's so much to choose from. I enjoy a lot of the "Here to Serve" restaurants. Nocce has some damn fine Sangria!

As well as the Buckhead Life group.

If you are staying in Sandy Springs there is also one on Roswell Road that would be a lot closer.

I SAID GO TO THE ORIGINAL! THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!

I'm j/k. I just like the one on Piedmont because the others are more like chains. Don't get me wrong, I usually go to the one on West Paces Ferry @ Northside because its closer to us. But the original one is where its at!

  • Like Italian? You can't go wrong with either: http://www.sottosottorestaurant.com/

Fritti is a bit more casual and may be a bit more fun but if you want good service with great food to Sotto Sotto.

I thought the original flying biscuit was on McLendon in Candler Park

Agreed. The original is in Candler Park. However, I don't really know what all the fuss is about. There are so many great brunch places in Atlanta where you don't have to wait to eat, because waiting to eat is the last thing you want to do on a Saturday morning. Here are some non-Biscuit suggestions.

Radial - (east Atlanta, farm to table), TAP - Midtown, Southcity Kitchen - Midtown, Ria's Bluebird, Highland Bakery, Treehouse

Here are some of our favorite resturants for dinner (they are all in or around Midtown cause that's where we live!)

One Midtown Kitchen, Two Urban Licks, Piola (italian), Ra (sushi), Ghenki (also sushi-2 locations, Buckhead and VA highlands), The Nook

  • Brunch - Park's Edge (great mimosas and sangria and you can make reservations)

Dinner - Do is a cool new restaurant in west midtown. I went on Saturday with my BFF and we had a really good time. All their menus are on iPads. It is so trendy and cool!

If you want to go for after dinner drinks try w/ a small dance floor  try The Sound Table. They also have an awesome chocolate dessert with salted caramel ice cream. I love it!

You can also go have drinks w/ dancing on the rooftop of the Glenn Hotel. They almost always have a DJ and it is a cool lounge with beautiful views of Atlanta.
