bobbileighb - Brazilian Blowout

Tell me about it. I have been wondering if one would help my hair. What did you go from before and what were the results?

Re: bobbileighb - Brazilian Blowout

  • Naturally I have very wavy/ curly hair that hates water and humidity of any kind.  I only wear my hair up or straight and if its humid it will get frizzy and even if its up I will get little curlies all around my hairline.  It used to take me around 45-60 min to do my hair and that was blow dry then flat iron and if it rained or was humid then it was game over.

I got my first brazillian blowout about a year ago and I will now continue to go every 3-4 months.

My stylist at first thought I was crazy because I am not the "ideal" candidate because I have very fine hair and not thick.  However even she agreed after seeing the results it was worth it.

It take about 90-120 min and as long as its the brazillian brand you walk out with your hair good to go and silky smooth.  It is more of an anti frizz treatment then a straightener though it does loosen the wave/curl.  If you get the keratin kind you usually cant get your hair wet or put it up for 2 days after. No thanks.

Now I can wash my hair and let it air dry then just run a flat iron over it in large sections (before I could never air dry or I had an afro and I had to flat iron in small sections) and I am done.  If I do blow dry and then flat iron because I dont have time to air dry it only takes about 20 min now.

I cant recommend it enough from the personal experiences I have had.  I am actually getting it done again next month.  If you have any other questions just let me know.  Sorry for the novel.

  • Thanks! My hair isn't frizzy, I am looking for something to straigten it ...I guess...so I dont have to use the flat iron at all. My hair is severely damaged. I''m trying to repair it, but its hard when I have to flat iron, because my hair isn't naturally straight, its not curly, or pretty wavy. Its just a bit of a mix of all and i can't seem to do anything with it, but flat iron. I tried it curly and it just didn't work.

  • Crystal,

I have a friend that lives in Austin that comes down to Dallas and does hair pretty frequently. If you want to get one, let me know! She's amazing!

  • Brazilian will help cut down on the time to flat iron but it definitely is not a straightening.  The only thing out there for straightening I know is the japenese treatment which is basically a perm and doesnt always look so hot when the roots come back in.
