Cross your fingers..i think re:motorcycle

Yesterday my Dad called Chris' phone to check on him. I answered and my Dad said he was checking to make sure chris was okay bc he was on 19 in tarpon and there was a bike under a car and a body under a sheet.

It seems kind of messed up, but I was happy to hear my Dad's concern. I've spoken of their relationship before..it's kind of rocky sometimes, but it seems to be getting better..

anyways. I told chris and he said yah, I had the #$%*& scared out of me today too. I guess someone was turning and the car behind them couldn't wait for them to turn so they about ran chris off the road trying to get into his lane. ..

He told me that he doesn't like to ride every day (this is big for him...admitting that he doesn't like it).. so today he is driving my car.. I'm definitely trying to get him to sell..

  • So scary, I always feel kind of protective when I see motorcycle riders out on the road near me. I always drive extra carefully around them. I hope for your sake that he'll stop riding so much...

me too. I sit at intersections extra long and quadruple check that none are coming. There are TONS of bikes around my area. tons.

He really only rides to work, but it's about an hour each way.

I saw a kid doing a wheelie on a crotch rocket yesterday. It made me laugh, but freaked me out at the same time.. Chris used to be that crazy kid.

  • Oh gosh, I hate driving around motorcycles.  They really scare me.  And from what I have seen from motorcycle drivers is they are too reckless for my liking.  The drive fast, weave in and out of traffic and don't obey all traffic laws.  Maybe that's unfair to generalize ALL motorcycle drivers as reckless but I have seen enough bad motorcycle drivers to feel uneasy around them.

For your sake (and your H's sake) I hope he sells it soon!  About 8 years ago my H claimed he wanted to buy a motorcycle (a Harley).  Ha.  Yeah, I was like no way Jose.  Thankfully he gave up on that idea!

Does your H wear a helmet?  I am guessing not because I would assume that within the motorcycle community that is probably the most uncool thing you can do, LOL!

  • He absolutely wears a helmet. I don't care how "uncool" it is. Dead is a lot less cool. I think he has not worn it twice when he test drove it down our road when it was having trouble, and another time he went to the gas station @ the end of our road to get dip.

He is pretty cautious...now..he didn't used to be.

Quite a few people wear helmets around here. We do see people w/o them.. but we wear full face helmets. I told him no way jose are you wearing a brain bucket. (half helmet). no effing way. it's pointless.

I told him when he bought this bike that he had to wear a helmet, it really wasn't even an argument.

Oh, and I'm not the boss of the fam or anything, i mean "told" like.. told him, but not demanded (although I would if he started to say he wouldn't.)

  • There is no way anyone should be driving a motorcycle in most of the bay area. Especially on 19. And during snow bird season. Yikes.

    I know! 19 is insane.

Thankfully, he is only on 19 for less than a mile.. but still.

Oh good!  Glad to hear he wears a helmet!  Even if it's not cool :)  And even better he is not an a-hole motorcycle driver.

But yeah, I totally understand you worry.  Shiit, I worry about my H sometimes (especially if it's raining) and he drives a big truck!
