My friend and I are going to Vegas in Sept for 2 nights. I have only been one time, and stayed at MGM (about 6 years ago). We want something on the strip with a good pool and good rooms. Any suggestions? We have a budget, but it's not too tight.
Thanks!
Re: Where to stay in Vegas?
I'm not that familiar with Vegas - went for the first time a few weeks ago - but I thought the Bellagio looked nice! And it's centrally-located too.
Try posting on the Travel board. There is a lot of Vegas info on there.
in may we stayed at the monte carlo for 2 nights. nice enough rooms & pool area is pretty awesome. not too pricey.
we also stayed 1 night at the mirage- more centrally located. really nice rooms and super amazing pool, they even have a separate private pool where you can go topless (if you're brave enough)
it always depends what days of the week you go. if it's fri & sat expect to pay 100+ per night, even more if you stay at one of the nicer hotels.
like sm said- the bellagio is nice, i've always wanted to stay there...but the 250+ room fee..ehh can't do that.
Dh and I went last month and stayed at Paris. It was awesome since we got an upgrade to a suite but I'm not sure how the regular rooms are. I loved how central it is because the strip is huge.
I had friends stay at luxor and they couldnt stop talking bad about it. They hated everything about it. I would be wary about that one and plus its more on the end of the strip. Planet hollywood I heard had some nice pools (nothing crazy though) and is a little bit younger crowd. This may sound funny but a few years ago we stayed at the Flamingo which they remodeled and really enjoyed it. They had some fun pools and such but people tend to think "old" but I liked it.
Wynn, Encore, Palazzo are GORGEOUS hotels.
Rio and Palms (located across from each other) are not on the strip so if you decide to stay there you will need to get a cab anywhere.
Planet hollywood and Ceasars both have great shopping.
There should be a map of the strip that lists all the hotels and where they are located for you to bed a better idea of where you might want to stay. Have fun!!
We just came back from there. We stayed at the Flamingo which had ok rooms, but the pool was awesome. Our friends stayed at Planet Hollywood which was way over priced and had a strike rule (if you are loud they kick you out of the room) and their pool was so-so.
ETA. My cousin has stayed at Mandalay Bay which can also be pricey, but she loves it.
