Does anybody know what the ramifications are of watching two children in my home on a regular basis? A friend wants me to watch her two kids 2 days a week, and I'm not sure if that means I'd have to be licensed, etc. since it's in my home. Any advice on where to look for info? Thanks!

Im not sure if its one child from one family that's okay, or if it was two, its been so long since I've done administration.  Call your county's Early Learning Coalition and they will have someone who will know the rules.  If you have to register its not worth it unless you're going to keep more kids. 

Im pretty sure since they're from the same family its okay, but Im not 100% on it.

You may also want to check with your HOA to see if that would be considered an in-home daycare because some HOAs don't allow for it.

Same goes for your HO insurance. In-home daycare is excluded from some policies & grounds for cancellation of your policy.

If its one family, its considered babysitting, not in home daycare, so you should be fine. I'm not sure what the exact number of families/children you have to have to be considered a daycare, but I do know that its more than 2 kids/1 family. If it is something that is going to make you worry, call Episcopal Children's services or DCF and ask. They'll be able to give you exact numbers and rules.

Ooh! Good point! I hadn't thought of the insurance thing! Luckily (at times, not at others), we don't have a HOA, so I don't have to worry about that.
