My friend is having a summer cookout/ pool party on Saturday. When I asked what I could bring she told me some sort of side salad dish. I've been making pioneer womans asian pasta salads for parties lately. It goes over great but its kind of a PITA to make and its has a ton of ingredients. I am looking for something simpleish but not you plane jane potato/macaroni salad. Any ideas?

Re: I need a recipe!
I love to get the Kraft Pasta Mixes in the box I think it's called Suddenly Pasta maybe?? Anyways i get the one that calls for Italian dressing.
Then I make 2 boxes up and then add Feta Cheese, more sliced olives and half cherry tomatoes....so good!
That's my go-to as well.
I also add more sliced black olives and I do Parmesan Cheese..although I might have to try the Feta
Blog!
Suddenly Salad! I like those too. Picked up two boxes today because they were on sale and I had a coupon. The only thing I don't like about them is they are salty. But of course it doesn't seem to stop me...
I like them with cucumbers and tomatoes. Feta and Olives sound good, too. Kind of Greek-y.
Potato salad with ranch and bacon. I would add bacon instead of using the bacon salad dressing and add halved grape tomatoes to it. I am planning on making this soon for the holiday but it got great reviews online.

I made this last year for my family reunion and plan on taking it again this year, it's delicious!

i made a simple potato salad for a work potluck when i was visiting in Cali in April...i used redskins and then did sour cream, a bit of mayo, some dijon mustard, fresh dill, salt and pepper.
loosely based on this recipe:

sorry, i do a lot of salads to taste. maybe like a Tbsp of the dijon mustard..i don't like it super mustard-y. everyone raved about this and it was SUPER easy. crazy...use plent of dill...fresh herbs aren't as strong as dried. and make sure to season the night before and then test the next day for needed salt and pepper.
Thanks girls!!
I went the suddenly salad route.... I had a killer head ache once I got to the grocery store, and my phone was not cooperating for me to bring up any other recipes. I will have to try some of these other ones some other time.
