Moms - I'm looking for wall 'clings' or something similar...

Lucas is really into saying "What's that?!" and talking about colors right now.  I was hoping to find something similar to a wall 'cling' (not a rub-on decal but just tacky/clingy) for the room we play in that either has A) colors or B) words with colors.  Hell at this point I'd be open to any wall cling after the chase I've been on!

I went to LP today and while they have great things for bulletin boards, I'm not sure how I'd use them.  If I tape them up, they'll rip of paint.  If I use tacky putty they will surely get torn down within seconds of him investigating.

Long story short - I want something up on the wall (preferably flush with the wall) that we can talk about, point to, identify with, etc.

Any ideas?

  • I got wall clings for Sophia's new room on Amazon.  They were roughly $5, so cheap, and are peel and stick.  They say you can move them a couple times, too, without losing their stickiness.

Awesome, thank you.  What were yours, if you don't mind me asking?  Colors?  Numbers?

I know what I want, I just can't find them.  But you're probably right that Amazon is a great resource.

  • Mine were butterflies, but I know I saw numbers, colors, and shapes when I was searching.

  • I bought some for El's room at Big Lots, and have seen them at Target/Walmart too!
  • I can make some with my cricut too. You just have to buy the vinyl stuff at Joann's and then we can print out whatever. Maybe a craft day soon :-)

(they are the like sticker vinyl, they go on easy and come off easy w/o ripping up paint)

  • You could also get some of Etsy I'd imagine and maybe customize your own

  • In our playroom I have laminated posters with colors/shapes/numbers/weather up.  DS loved them at that age.  I just used that fun tack(mounting putty).  They have fallen down a couple of times but the great thing is I can move them easily and didn't hurt the paint at all.  I would maybe check Dollar Tree as they sometimes have posters like that in their teaching section.

  • We've used contact paper as clings and they're not too sticky but just sticky enough. That might be another idea.
