Best Pizza places downtown?
Hi Ladies! We are visiting Chicago for 4th of July Weekend and I wanted some recs for the best Pizza place! Please give me advice on where you like to eat.
Also, any recs for downtown hotels would be great! Thanks so much!!
Re: Best Pizza places downtown?
Depends on what kind of pizza you are looking for.. if you like really thick crust, go with Giordano's, if you like a nice medium crust with sweet sauce and an entire layer of sausage go to Gino's East (they have writing all over the walls), if you want a pretty thick crust with lots of cheese and onion/garlic crust try PeQuads. Thin crust, I'd go with Giordano's or The art of pizza.
Hotels.. Depends on where you are looking to stay and your budget. One time my fiancee and I wanted a night out at a hotel and did priceline.com we ended up at a really nice hotel called the intercontinental for 100 bucks a night. That hotel is totally worth looking around the entire building, it's so old and magnificent looking.
Of course if you are looking for somewhere absolutely swanky and expensive I'd recommend Trump. Somewhere a little more reasonable is the W, either one is nice.
Have fun!
Definitely Lou Malnati's for pizza.
When we staycation, we like the Westin River North Hotel.

Pizanos for thin crust!!!
Hotels will be $ that weekend, maybe try Palmer House, Sheraton, and Westin
Ready for summer!
Lou's has so many good reviews; but we're really just not big fans.
Downtown are fav pizza's are (in order most to least fav): Edwardo's (near Division and Dearborn in Gold Coast 'hood), Giordano's, Gino's East and Lou's.
For hotels, they will be pricy that weekend. Your best bet may be to use priceline.com's name your own price and just specify the number of stars you want and vicinity. GL!
