anyone flies a lot or recently flown?

I have done it once and that was over 5 yrs ago

When you get to the airport and need to check in, you go to the company you are flying.. or is there a central check in place and it does not matter who you fly? or do ya look on your ticket and find the gate number.

I dont remember what to do

Re: anyone flies a lot or recently flown?

  • Go to the ticket desk for the airline you are flying with. That's where you check any luggage and obtain your boarding pass, which has your gate # on it. (unless you print your boarding pass ahead of time, I usually don't)
  • I have an eticket confirmation in an email from the cruise ppl, I am thinking that is not a boarding pass, I know he'll have to show ID, but ok, that makes the most sense to go to the Delta desk.

  • I typically print my boarding pass at home so I can go directly to security.  I travel a lot for work, and I don't usually check baggage.

Also TSA has changed the rules for security screening a lot over the past 5 years.  The big things to know if that there is the limit of liquids for carry-on (no more than 3 ounces per container that need to fit into a quart size bag).  You're going to have to take you shoes off, take off any outers garmets (i.e. jackets, cardigans, etc.) pull out any large electronics, and you may need to go through the body scanner.

  • Check in online at home, if you have luggage I would suggest utilizing curbside check in so you don't have to deal with the ppl inside. Once you've printed out your ticket (after checking in), it will have your gate number on it.  Just confirm the gate hasn't changed once you get to the airport.
