How would you go about mailing someone chocolate without worrying that it would arrive as a puddle of melted, deformed ick?
Re: mailing chocolate?
Where are you sending it? Are you buying chocolate and mailing it yourself? You might have better luck ordering online and having it sent directly to that person - the chocolate "experts" will be able to package it properly.
If that's not a possibility... hmmm maybe send overnight with dry ice? I know USPS considers dry ice a hazardous material - not sure if that means they won't ship it at all, or if you just have to package it a certain way, mark it as such and/or pay extra. You'll need to investigate that. Maybe UPS or FedEx have different rules.
I'm sending it to Ohio. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to just order it and have it sent there.
I have a mom-friend that has been having a really rough time lately, and I just wanted to give her some chocolate, lol. It's what I would show up with if she lived closer, so I thought I could mail it.
Thanks for the advice, I'm going to go ahead and have it sent from the store. So simple, I feel like smacking myself on the forehead!
