mad...[short vent]

I am going to start off saying that every year I hope that maybe my Dh will turn around and actually get me a gift for my birthday. He asks me for weeks what I want and then on my birthday I get nothing. Or its a just go buy it yourself kind of thing. This year for his birthday I told him it was ok to buy new hockey skates ($400) he happened to run into his dad while buying them and they split the price with him. So he spend $200. I wanted new pots and pans from costco ($175) and I had told him this awhile ago. I left him at home all day Saturday (his one day off) and when we were going to bed that night I got a "I am sorry I didnt have any time to go out and get you anything." BULL SH!T... you had all Fing day. Today I didn't even get a card and it took him until 5pm to even say happy birthday. He decided to work instead of spend the day with me, so I went out to lunch with my brother, his gf, her sister, and Oliver's god parents. I had to make DH take me to get ice cream when he got home and then he left for his other job.
UGGG.. I am so pissed that he couldn't even find time to make me feel a tad bit special.

I would be pissed to. As a matter of fact dh really let me down this year for my birthday. He usually does an amazing job so that could be even more of a reason why I was so dissapointed because he really did have a horrible work week leading up to my bithday. I got a card and a candy bar and then a " yeah I didn't have time to go out and get that perfume for you so you can run out and get it when you want", he then picked me up a body pillow a about 2 weeks later...... I am still pretty annoyed by it actually.

another dh not so great with birthdays...my bday is in january, so everyone has a hard time buying for me since it is so close to christmas.  I don't mind waiting to get a gift (i always did this when i was younger), but at least get me a card, or something little so i know u were thinking about it!

Another January baby and crappy birthday person here.  I am so sorry.

My birthday always got lumped with christmas or just plan overlooked.  Once my mom had my sister, she sort of stopped doing the whole big birthday thing.  It sucked.

I have asked DH for years to make my birthday special, but he still doesn't realize that I would rather get 2 small gifts, one at christmas and one at my birthday than a combo.

UUGGGHHH i hate that!!! "oh this is for christmas and your birthday." NO! 2 occasions, 2 gifts!

That stinks, I'm sorry. My DH is great with birthdays, but my father and step-mother were not so I know how it feels to be "forgotten."

That stinks but I totally get the same thing. My birthday is new years day and everyone always is busy with their own new years plans. Plus I get the two gifts lumped into one, that is, even if I get a gift. Most of my friends expect a party every year and it pisses me off because the most I get is dinner with a few family members, never a whole f*ing party.
